On Tuesday, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office and County of Fresno announced the opening of its news West Annex Jail. It is located on Merced Street, next to the current North Annex Jail and Main Jail in downtown Fresno. It features 300 beds, several classrooms, exercise yards, medical clinics, enhanced officer safety features, laundry facilities, video visitation stations and observation and safety cells.
